Meet the people behind QuiltTalk
Valerie is a passionate quilter, who LOVES colour. She has a passion for technology, and has a personal quilting blog. She was the brains and the brawn behind Quilts at the Creek, an outdoor quilt show in Toronto that ran from 2012 – 2019. Quilts at the Creek had quilting workshops, vendors, hundreds of quilts on display and thousands of visitors. Valerie is also a member of four quilt guilds in Toronto (York Heritage, Etobicoke, the Toronto Modern Guild, and SAQA), and sees a real excitement in this move towards online lectures, trunk shows and workshops. This is such a wonderful opportunity for us to see hear and meet (even if remotely ) quilters with different approaches, styles and techniques. She is SO excited about this and hopes you join us in this new venture.
Sandy, a former pattern maker/stylist and clothing manufacturer, knew she had found her passion when she discovered quilting. She soon developed her skills into a thriving long-arm quilting business. She frequently posts on the quilts she has been working on for her customers: www.scrappygalquiltco.com She may be best known for her trunk show “Confessions of a Scrapaholic” where she freely dishes out the dirt of the activities behind the scenes in the group quilting projects she has organized. She has a range of workshops, and currently she is busy developing patterns that encourage quilters to use and modernize their fabric stash. She was a member of the Quilts at the Creek gang, organizing and supervising workshops in its early years.
